Satish Betadpur, CFA

Satish Betadpur, CFA is the Managing Director, Head of Investments – India of State Street Global Advisors.  Satish provides leadership to the Investment Research and other investment related functions in Bangalore, collaborating actively with investment teams and CIOs globally. Satish is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at State Street Global Advisors. SSGA is the third largest asset manager in the world with $3 Trillion assets under management.

Satish has over 25 years of investment industry experience working in the United States and India. Satish worked at TIAA for over 15 years in New York and San Francisco in various portfolio management roles covering both fixed income and equities in emerging markets, Japan, Europe and later as their head of global technology research. After his tenure at TIAA, Satish set up and managed research, advisory and investment management firms.

Satish has dual masters in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology and a MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Satish also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Howard Davies

Sir Howard Davies is a British economist and author who is chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland. He also is a professor of practice at the French School of Political Science in Paris (Sciences Po). Previously, he served as director of the London School of Economics and Political Science and chairman of the UK Financial Services Authority. Sir Davies has also served as deputy governor of the Bank of England and director general of the Confederation of British Industry. Earlier in his career, he worked at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the UK Treasury, and McKinsey & Company, and he also served as controller of the UK Audit Commission. Sir Davies is an independent director of Morgan Stanley Inc. and chairs its Risk Committee. He also is a board member and chair of the Risk Committee at Prudential plc. Sir Davies is a member of the Regulatory and Compliance Advisory Board of Millennium Management LLC. In addition, he is a member of the International Advisory Council of the China Banking Regulatory Commission and is chairman of the International Advisory Council of the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

Ridham Desai

Ridham Desai is Managing Director of Morgan Stanley. With 22 years at the firm, Mr. Desai heads Morgan Stanley’s Indian Equity Research team which is the top ranked team in the country. He has been consistently ranked among the best equity market strategist and analyst in the country over his career spanning nearly three decades. Mr. Desai has represented Morgan Stanley in several public debates on the equity market and the economy, he is a regular media contributor and authored several insightful reports.

Ralph Hertwig

Ralph Hertwig is the Director of the Center of Adaptive Rationality (ARC) at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. Before that Hertwig was a professor for cognitive and decision sciences and later dean at the University of Basel, Psychology Department. Early in his career, he was a researcher at Columbia University, University of Chicago, and the MPI’s Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition, Munich. He has been awarded several prizes for his research and teaching. His research focuses on models of bounded rationality such as simple heuristics, on decisions from experience, on the psychology of risk, and on evidence-based public policy (Boosting).

Joel Litman

Joel Litman is president and CEO of Valens Research, a global investment research and advisory firm. He is also a managing director and the chief investment strategist of Altimetry, a boutique financial research and publishing firm. Mr. Litman wrote the Harvard Business Review article “Give My Regrets to Wall Street” and is a top contributor to Seeking Alpha. He has been interviewed on CNBC, Forbes.com, the Singapore Stock Exchange, Barron’s, Institutional Investor, and NASDAQ Marketsite. Mr. Litman has conducted seminars and lectures for Harvard Business School, Wharton, London Business School, and other universities and for CFA societies in New York, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan, among others. He is on faculty as a professor at three universities. Mr. Litman is a member of the board of directors of COL Financial Group. He is a CPA and an MBA/MM graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Abhishek Loonker, CFA

Abhishek Loonker, CFA, is Director–investments at Ascent Capital, one of the leading private equity firms in India. He has over 16 years of professional experience spanning private equity, corporate strategy, and Treasury.

At Ascent Capital, Abhishek focuses primarily on investments in Consumer, technology and BFSI sectors. He enjoys working with high integrity entrepreneurs. He is currently engaged with young and rapidly growing portfolio companies in these sectors, working closely with entrepreneurs at the strategic and operating level to help companies transition to the next level. Previously, he worked as a project manager at Jain Group. He was named one of the “40 under 40” in the alternative investment industry by the Association of International Wealth Management of India and the Indian Association of Alternative Investment Funds in Jan 2018. Mr. Loonker serves as a director on the board of CFA Society India and is a board observer at BigBasket.com and Laqshya Media. He is a gold medalist MBA from MATS School of Business and a CFA charter holder. He has also completed the executive education program in corporate restructuring and M&A from Harvard Business School.

Virginie Maisonneuve, CFA

Virginie Maisonneuve, CFA, is a member of the CFA Institute Future of Finance Council. Previously, she served as chief investment officer (CIO) at Eastspring Investments. Ms. Maisonneuve has over 30 years of experience in the industry. She has served in various positions globally for such companies as PIMCO, Schroders, Clay Finlay, Batterymarch, State Street Research, and Martin Currie. Ms. Maisonneuve started her career in China as a consultant for the Ministry of Foreign affairs while attending political economy classes at People’s University. She is a global media commentator, is regularly interviewed by Bloomberg, CNBC, and BBC, and is a thought leader on global markets, sustainability, diversity, and creative disruption in the asset management industry. Ms. Maisonneuve has been named one of the Top Women in Finance in Europe, one of Money Management Executive’s Top Women in Asset Management, and one of Investment Week’s Highly Commended International Investment Women of the Year.

Navneet Munot, CFA

Navneet Munot joined SBI Funds Management as Chief Investment Officer in December 2008. He has over 25 years of rich experience in Financial Markets. In his role, Navneet is responsible for overseeing investments worth over USD 100 billion across various asset classes in mutual fund and segregated accounts. In his previous assignment, he was the Executive Director & Head – multi –strategy boutique with Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Investment Management, he has worked as Chief Investment Officer – Fixed Income and Hybrid Funds at Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and worked in various areas such as fixed income, equities and foreign exchange.

Navneet is the chairman of Indian association of Investment Professional (India society of CFA charter holders with over 3000 members).

Navneet is Nominee Director on the board of SBI PENSION FUNDS (P) LTD

Navneet is a postgraduate in Accountancy and Business Statistics and a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is also a Charter Holder of the CFA Institute and CAIA Institute. He has also done FRM.

Aditya Narain

Aditya Narain has over 25 years of experience in the Equity Markets.   He is the Head of Equity Research at Edelweiss, and India Equity Strategist.  In his previous roles at Global Financial Institutions, Mr. Narain has been a  Banking and Financial sector analyst, India Equity strategist, and Head of Research.

Mr. Narain is an MBA from FMS Delhi, a graduate in Economics from SRCC, Delhi University.

Nick Pollard

Nick Pollard joined CFA Institute in 2016 as managing director for Asia Pacific. Based in the Hong Kong office, he also oversees operations in Beijing, China and Mumbai, India. Nick is responsible for working with all CFA Institute stakeholders, increasing the number of candidates entering and moving through the organization’s credentialing programs, and working with institutional partners (employers, universities and regulators) throughout the region. He is actively engaged with 21 CFA Societies that represent more than 25,000 members in the region.

Nick is a seasoned wealth management and banking executive and skilled at growing businesses in Europe and Asia. He brings a unique combination of strategic leadership skills as well as learning and professional development expertise. Prior to joining CFA Institute, Nick was CEO of The Royal Bank of Scotland’s Coutts Asia division and, most recently, he was the Head of International Learning and Professional Development for Coutts International. Nick began his career with NatWest Group, subsequently part of the RBS Group, where he gained experience in marketing and talent development.

Nick earned his B.A. from University College, London and is a Member of the Private Wealth Management Association. He has lived and worked in the APAC region since 2009 and resides in Hong Kong.

Nouriel Roubini

Nouriel Roubini is a professor of economics at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is also CEO of Roubini Macro Associates, LLC, a global macroeconomic consultancy firm, as well as co-founder of Rosa & Roubini Associates. Previously, Professor Roubini was on the faculty of Yale University’s department of economics and was co-founder and chairman of Roubini Global Economics. He has also served as the senior economist for international affairs on the White House Council of Economic Advisers and the senior adviser to the undersecretary for international affairs at the US Treasury Department. The International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and numerous other prominent institutions have drawn upon Professor Roubini’s consulting expertise. He has published numerous theoretical, empirical, and policy papers on international macroeconomic issues and coauthored three books. Professor Roubini received an undergraduate degree at Bocconi University and a doctorate in economics at Harvard University.

Allison Schrager

Allison Schrager teaches at New York University and is an economist, a journalist at Quartz, and co-founder of LifeCycle Finance Partners, LLC, a risk advisory firm that develops innovative technology solutions to finance retirement. She has diverse professional experience, having worked in finance, policy, and media. Dr. Schrager has led retirement product innovation at Dimensional Fund Advisors and has consulted for international organizations, including the OECD and the IMF. She has been a regular contributor to the Economist, Reuters, and Bloomberg Businessweek, and her writing has also appeared in Playboy, Wired, and Foreign Affairs. Dr. Schrager’s book, An Economist Walks into a Brothel, takes everything she has learned about risk management and applies it to corners of the economy far from financial markets. She has a PhD in economics from Columbia University.

Vidhu Shekhar, CFA, CIPM

Vidhu Shekhar, CFA, CIPM, is the country head of CFA Institute in India. He is responsible for advancing the mission of CFA Institute and supporting CFA charterholders in India. Mr. Shekhar is a seasoned financial and investment professional with over 30 years of industry experience in India and abroad. Previously, he was vice president, New Products and Business Excellence, National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India, overseeing new product initiatives in debt and equity markets. He also contributed to the development of Indian financial markets through his participation in the work of various committees, including the Dr. Patil Committee on Corporate Bonds and Securitisation, the Raghuram Rajan Committee on Financial Sector Reforms, and the most recent being Primary Market Advisory Committee (PMAC) at SEBI. Prior to that, Mr. Shekhar served as senior vice president at IDBI Capital Markets and managing director at E*Trade Systems India Limited. Mr. Shekhar completed his postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1987 and holds a bachelor’s degree in physics (Honours) from the University of Delhi.

Sunil Singhania, CFA

Sunil Singhania, CFA, is the Founder of Abakkus Asset Management, LLP, an India-focused Asset Management Company he established in 2018. Prior to this, in his role as Global Head – Equities at Reliance Capital Ltd., he oversaw equity assets and provided strategic inputs across Reliance Capital Group of companies including asset management, insurance, AIF and offshore assets. And as CIO – Equities, Singhania led Reliance Mutual Fund equity schemes to be rated amongst the best. Reliance Growth Fund grew over 100 times in less than 22 years under Singhania’s leadership. Furthermore, he led Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management Ltd.’s international efforts and was instrumental in launching India funds in Japan, South Korea, and the UK, besides managing mandates from institutional investors based in the US, Singapore, and other countries. Singhania was the Promoter of The Association of NSE Members of India; a body of stock brokers. He is also the first individual from India to be elected as a member of the CFA Institute Board of Governors and currently serves as the Chair of the Investment Committee and as a member of the Nominating Committee. He also sat on CFA Institute’s Standards of Practice Council for six years, and was the Founder of the Indian Association of Investment Professionals (now CFA Society India) and served as its President for eight years. Singhania graduated in commerce from the Bombay University and completed his Chartered Accountancy from the ICAI, Delhi with an all India rank. He has also earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, conferred by CFA Institute. Having travelled extensively across the world, Singhania has also attended many global investment conferences and seminars.

Madhu Veeraraghavan

Madhu Veeraraghavan is the director and chair professor of finance at T. A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal. He has published more than 50 papers in top journals, presented his work at conferences in accounting and finance, and won many awards for the best paper at both national and international conferences. The Social Science Research Network (SSRN) recently announced that Professor Veeraraghavan—whose research interests include corporate finance, behavioural finance, and the interplay between auditing and finance—ranked in the top 10 percent of authors around the world. He holds a doctorate in finance.
